Pete Weiss & the Rock Band: Songs

You can check out a few songs from our self-titled debut album HERE.  And you can purchase CDs HERE.

[NOTE: the below information does not contain live links; we are keeping it here for nostalgia purposes.]

Here's a link to some MP3's from our farewell performance on November 5, 1999 at the Lizard Lounge. These were recorded by the wonderful Mr. Dave Green on a Tascam DA-88 and mixed/mastered later at Zippah. The sound quality and mix are darned good. The performances are classic live PW&RB--a bit sloppy, but spirited and spontaneous. Incidentally, the whole farewell show was recorded and mixed. Please email me and let me know if there is any interest in this document being released as a limited edition full-length CD; if there's enough interest, maybe we'll do it.

Here's a bit of info on the MP3's themselves:

Eighteen Wheels - live
(1.6 MB) This tale of truck drivin' woe originally appeared on "Pete Weiss Presents the Astounding World of Tomorrow's Modern Hi-Fi Audio" CD.
Written by Pete Weiss and Chris Harges while both were sharing a roach-infested apartment and working as letter carriers for the U.S. Postal Service, summer 1988.

Maggot - live
(2.3 MB) Studio version (performed in a different key) available on "Pete Weiss & the Rock Band" CD.
Sung by Stephen, written by the talented Dave Thomas of Pony/The Irresponsibles.

Question, Sherry - live
(844 KB) Original version on "Pete Weiss & the Rock Band" CD.
Trivia: studio version was performed by Pete alone without "rock band" backing. Enjoy, and let us know what you think.
